According to the information, the police have arrested an accused named Firoz Niazi Sheikh from Kalyan area. He is accused of trapping about 25 women in the trap of marriage and defrauding them of money and jewellery. According to the police, he embezzled lakhs of rupees from the women. It is being told that the accused married 4 women in Pune, Maharashtra. Firoz Niazi Sheikh has been accused of many crimes in the past as well. He has been to jail six times before.

He used to contact women through online websites

According to the police, he used to meet women through online websites and then disappear after duping them of lakhs of rupees. This accused mainly targeted widowed women. After being duped, a woman lodged a complaint at Nalasopara police station. She said that Firoz Sheikh had cheated her of Rs 6 lakh 50 thousand 790. After this complaint, the police came into action.

The police laid a trap and arrested the accused

The biggest problem faced by the police during the investigation was that they did not have any phone number or address of the accused. Then the police created a profile of a woman on an online platform and came in contact with the accused. After the conversation, the police called him to meet in Kalyan. The accused fell into this trap of the police. As soon as he reached the designated place in Kalyan, the policemen already present there caught the accused.

More than 3 lakh cash recovered

Police have recovered goods worth about 3 lakh 21 thousand 490 rupees from accused Firoz Niazi Sheikh. Apart from this, ATM cards of many women, check books, 6 mobile phones, 1 laptop, and gold and silver jewelry along with documents of women have also been recovered. Police arrested the accused and presented him in the court, after which he has been sent to police custody for 2 days. According to information received from police sources, the accused has studied only till 12th standard.
